The category of Improvised Jazz Solo Performance is a great one as it gives us an intimate look at an artist, who may not even be the headliner, in thier element. My favorite in this category is Dancin’ 4 Chicken where Terence Blanchard shows his immense drumming talent. I was already familiar with Terence’s immense talent from the highly recommended DVD Branford Marsalis’ Quintet Coltrane’s A Love Supreme.
